Rudi came to Australia in February 1999 after gaining his American, Canadian and Mexican Champion titles and winning numerous Group placings along the way.

He started his Australian show career in March 1999 and took the show world by storm. Six months later Rudi gained his Australian Champion title, and two years after that his Grand Championship.

In March 2000, Rudi won the Canberra K9 Cash Knockout, beating 13 other Best in Group winning dogs. Rudi's win was decided by a panel of five International judges. Rudi was the first Alaskan Malamute to win this event.

In September, 2001, Rudi was awarded Best Exhibit In Specialty Show at the AMCV Championship Show under judge Ms. Yvonne Smith (NZ).

After a three year break from the show ring, Rudi came back in May 2004 and won an All Breeds Best Exhibit In Show at the tender age of seven and a half years old. This was only his third show back.

Rudi's most honourable achievement is his induction into the Alaskan Malamute Club of NSW "Hall Of Fame". Rudi is one of only seven Malamutes to achieve this prestigous award.

Throughout Rudi's interupted show career, he has been awarded 1 Best Exhibit In Specialty Show, 4 Best Exhibit In Show (All Breeds), 3 Runner Up In Show (All Breeds), 14 Best In Groups and numerous Class in Show and Group awards.

We said goodbye to Rudi for the last time on 17th April 2010. He was 13 years 4months old. Rudi simply succumbed to old age. The mind was strong and willing, but the body just couldn't go on. Rudi was an absolute gentleman, a real "Grand" champion. Above all else he was a very much loved member of our family. Rudi was, and always will be, a TRUE AMBASSADOR for the breed.

We are certainly blessed to have been a part of this remarkable boy's life. Rudi's spirit runs strong in his kids & grandkids.
